Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Branchmore is a developer tool, with a CLI and a web dashboard, that gives engineering teams observability into their coding agent: what it's doing, how it's performing, and where developers are spending their time. Because our product integrates into your coding agent as it builds, we end up handling data that matters to you, and we want to be straightforward about what we collect and why.

This Privacy Policy covers Branchmore, Inc. and its affiliates ("Branchmore," "we," "us"), and applies whenever you use our website, our hosted dashboard, or install our CLI (together, the "Branchmore Solution"). By using any part of the Branchmore Solution, you're agreeing to the practices described below.

This policy explains:

  • The personal data we collect
  • How we use it
  • How we collect it, including cookies and tracking
  • How long we keep it
  • Your privacy rights
  • Our policy on children's privacy
  • How to reach us

1. The personal data we collect

Information you give us directly. When you sign up for Branchmore, whether as an individual or on behalf of a company ("Customer"), we collect things like your name, and email address. If you update your profile or message us or other users through the product, we collect that too.

Information from your interactions with your agent. We refer to this as "Agent Transcripts". Agent Transcripts power the core of what Branchmore does, so we want to be specific about it. To provide observability into your coding agent, the Branchmore CLI reads session transcripts from your coding agent (prompts, responses, tool calls, and similar output), along with related metadata like your hostname, machine and account identifiers, and git branch information.

Before Agent Transcripts leave your machine, we run them locally through automated secret-scanning and redaction that strips credentials, and other sensitive material. We also exclude file contents when your agents use tool calls to read files. We may have snippets of code that are included in conversation in the Agent Transcripts, but we do not read your files.

You're also in control of how much we see: you can turn on "Stats Mode" to send only anonymized numeric summaries instead of transcript content, or exclude specific projects from monitoring entirely.

We refer to this collectively as "Submitted Data." We process Submitted Data on behalf of you or your organization, under our Beta Program Terms or a separate sales agreement. We generally don't have a direct relationship with every individual whose information might appear inside Submitted Data (for example, a name that shows up in a code comment or a conversation log) — that data is submitted by our Customers, and our handling of it is governed by those agreements.

Github integration data. If you connect a third-party tool to Branchmore — for example, GitHub — we collect related metadata, such as commit SHAs, dates, author name and email, and lines added/removed. We will conditionally access your source code if you've enabled features where our backend generates code changes to improve your repository (for example, automated fixes or pull requests). If you have not enabled these features, or are generating code locally with your coding agent, we do not read your code.

Technical and usage information, collected automatically. This includes your device type, browser type and version, IP address, geolocation, standard web log data, and statistics about how you navigate and interact with the Branchmore Solution.

Information from your organization. If you're using Branchmore through an employer or other Customer, we may also collect information that Customer provides about you or their account — contact details and optional details like company size or industry. Billing information (such as name, address, and payment method) will be collected and processed by a third-party payment processor; Branchmore itself does not store your raw payment card details.

2. How we use personal data

We use the personal data described above to:

  • Provide the Branchmore Solution and communicate with you about it
  • Improve product uptime, the effectiveness of our user interface and our backend analysis, and the user experience — this is the whole point of observability, and it's the main reason we collect usage and performance data
  • Personalize and measure the product's performance
  • Develop and improve product features, including through review and annotation of a limited set of data by our data science and research roles — you can opt out of this at any time via the privacy mode toggle in Settings, which excludes your data from this kind of review
  • Generate AI-powered summaries and labels for your sessions — to do this, we send session content (message text and tool-call names) to a third-party AI provider; that provider does not use your data to train its own models
  • Detect and investigate misuse, security issues, or violations of our agreements
  • Generate reports and analytics about product usage and performance
  • Troubleshoot problems and resolve disputes
  • Send you product updates, and — if you haven't opted out — marketing or promotional messages

We do not sell your personal information. We use your information to improve our product and our business, and do not sell or give your information to any other parties for their use. From time to time, we may publish whitepapers or other findings for research, awareness or marketing purposes about how our customer base is using AI in aggregate. When we do, we use bulk aggregated or anonymized data; data that can't reasonably be tied back to you.

How we limit internal access to your data. Access to Submitted Data by Branchmore employees is not routine, and reading it isn't part of how we operate day to day. Our internal policy prohibits employees from accessing customer data — including Agent Transcripts or other account data — except (1) in response to a specific request from you or your organization, or (2) to troubleshoot a production issue that cannot be reproduced in a local or development environment. In either case, access is limited to the specific scope necessary to resolve the request or issue at hand.

Separately, personnel in data science and research roles may review and annotate a limited set of Submitted Data for the purpose of developing and improving product features. This access is narrower than general troubleshooting access — it's used specifically to inform feature development, not to resolve individual support requests — and any personal information handled this way remains subject to the same confidentiality obligations as the rest of this policy. If you'd prefer your data not be used this way, you can turn on privacy mode in Settings to exclude your account's data from this kind of review.

If you'd rather not receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe using the link in any such email — we'll still send administrative notices about your account. And while we work hard to protect your information, no system is perfectly secure; we can't guarantee against unauthorized access, and we're not responsible for compromises resulting from you not keeping your own login credentials secure.

3. How we collect information; cookies and tracking

We collect the information above directly through the forms you fill out and the product you use. Beyond that, our website and our application use cookies and similar technologies differently, because they serve different purposes:

  • Within the Branchmore web app, we use PostHog to understand product usage — limited to text-based events (for example, which features you use and how often), not session or screen recording. This data is used for product decisions, not marketing or sales.
  • Using the Branchmore command line app, there's no cookie-based tracking or usage-analytics system — the CLI isn't a browser. Beyond the Agent Transcript data described in Section 1, the only outbound check it performs is a periodic query against GitHub's public release feed to see whether a newer CLI version is available; this check doesn't send any usage or personal data.
  • On our marketing website (branchmore.com), which is a separate site from the application, we use a separate set of cookies for marketing and sales purposes, such as understanding traffic and campaign performance.

We sometimes rely on third-party service providers who may collect information through these same technologies when you interact with their embedded features. Review their privacy policies to learn more about what they collect.

4. How long we keep your data

By default, Branchmore retains data indefinitely, since historical trends are a core part of the observability we provide. Some plans have shorter retention — for example, free-tier accounts may have conversation logs and related data automatically removed after a few months. Please see our pricing page to see the retention period for your plan.

Custom Retention. We may change retention periods over time to manage costs, but we'll give you notice before we do. Paying business Customers can request a custom retention schedule. We'll retain limited information where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time by contacting us (see below). As an early-stage product, we currently process deletion requests manually rather than through automated self-service tools — we'll delete your data within 30 days after you reach out.

5. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we process it, or to receive a copy of it in a portable format. We process personal information based on your consent, our need to perform our agreement with you, or our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Branchmore Solution. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

6. Children's privacy

The Branchmore Solution isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please let us know so we can delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version always lives at branchmore.com/policies/privacy-policy. If we make material changes, we'll post a notice on our website and, where applicable, email the address we have on file for your account.
